Once again, the Buffalo NY based Myron Hunt, Inc. corporation seeks to infiltrate its culture into the distinctive local Middlebury flavor by bringing an investment, along with some jobs into the area - for the sole benefit of those Staples devotees. And once again, the Addison Independent brings its balanced reporting to the issue. Now, rather than carbon emit one’s way to Rutland or Williston, we can crush the downtown competition into submission while having a cappuccino or latte (at Starbucks) instead of 2 gallons of the really dark stuff (at least really dark before the “local” refinery cleans it up.)
Personally, I have a dilemma; should I click my mouse to order a new ink cartridge and some highlighters (and maybe a couple of reams of paper) or travel the 32 miles round trip to the new (prospectively of course) Staples in Middlebury, where I can stop by for a bacon-egg-and-cheese bagel at…. Middlebury Bagel. They’re the best - especially along with a cup of Speeder and Earl’s coffee; black please.
